West Riding County FA provide a range of courses aimed at supporting people who work or wish to work in football either in a paid or voluntary basis. Below you can view the courses we have on offer or find out more about which course is right for you.

The FA Level 1 in Coaching Football

The FA Level 1 in Coaching Football is the first step for any new manager / coach on the FA Coaching Pathway. This course includes the FA Emergency Aid and FA Safeguarding Children Workshop.

The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football - Block 1

The FA Level 2 (Block 1) – 'How we Coach' is the first step for Level 1 coaches working towards their Level 2 qualification. It reviews the role of the coach and helps coaches start to build their own philosophy, improve communication skills and looks at how a coach can help their players to learn.

The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football - Block 2

The FA Level 2 (Block 2) – 'The Future Player and How We Support' is the second block for coaches working towards their Level 2 qualification. This course expands from the Block 1 course and looks at players’ long term player development, how a coach can manage differences and behaviour.

The FA Level 2 in Coaching Football - Block 3

The FA Level 2 (Block 3) – 'How We Play' is the final block on the pathway towards becoming a Level 2 coach. It will cover Possession, Out of Possession, Transition and Goalkeeping.

The FA Level 3 (UEFA B)

The internationally recognised qualification develops core principles of the England DNA that relate to - How we Coach, How we Play, How we Support, and The Future Player.

Applications are not currently being taken for this course. Further information will be available in Spring 2018.


The FA Coaching Disabled Footballers

This course teaches coaches to apply coaching skills to meet the needs of players with different impairments. The course establishes basic communication skills for coaching disabled footballers, using appropriate terminology. Coaches are also advised on appropriate medical and safety considerations.

The FA Coaching Deaf Footballers

The FA Coaching Deaf Footballers workshop course is designed to provide football coaches and teachers ideas and practices for the inclusion of deaf players in football sessions within mainstream or impairment specific sessions. Our experienced team of FA qualified tutors provide a quality service designed to support candidates through the course ensuring that individual needs are catered for.

The FA Coaching Blind Footballers

The FA Coaching Blind Footballers (CBF) Course is designed to provide football coaches with an introduction to working effectively and confidently with blind footballers.

The FA Safeguarding Children Workshop

Safeguarding is a priority for The FA and this course is for any volunteers involved in football. Its key focus is on making football safe.

This course covers the basics of first aid within a football environment and is ideal for any volunteer working within the game.

The FA Welfare Officer Workshop

All youth football clubs are required to have a Club Welfare Officer, once appointed they must attend the three hours Welfare Officers Workshop.

CPD

West Riding County FA offers a comprehensive programme of CPD events. These sessions are offered free of charge (unless stated) to anyone who is currently involved in football in the county. There are no pre-requisites to attend and coaches can attend as many events as they like.
