European Coaching Exchange

EUROPEAN COACHING EXCHANGE

West Riding FA are pleased to announce their first ever European Coaching Exchange, which is due to take place in August 2020. We have arranged a 3 day study visit to Cologne, Germany aimed at Coach Developers and Senior Coaches across the County. The aim of the visit is to get an insight into Coach and Player Development within the German Association (DFB). The following year (Summer, 2021) we will return the favour and host a cohort of German coaches here in West Riding. As far as we are aware, this is the first time Counties/Regions have worked together to do an exchange like this.

The date that has been proposed is Monday 3rd August 2020 to Wednesday 5th August 2020 and due to the nature of the visit, we would only be able to accept coaches who are UEFA B License qualified or higher. There is no cost to the programme that has been put together by the DFB but attendees will be required to pay for their own flights, accommodation and any additional expenses occurred.

FLIGHTS

The prices and availability of flights change all the time but based on recent quotes, we estimate that return flights will cost approximately £150, with the outbound flight on the morning of Monday 3rd August with a return flight on the evening of Wednesday 5th August.

ACCOMODATION

We currently have a hotel reserved where the cost will be approximately £150 per person for 2 nights based on sharing a twin room with another attendee. Meals will be included within this price.

In total the cost is therefore approximately £300 for flights, accommodation, food and attendance on the programme. West Riding FA will not be looking to make any profit on the exchange and will be transparent with finances so attendees would not be charged any more than true cost. We would only ask that attendees help us when we build the programme for the German cohort return visits in 2021.

If you are interested, please could you complete the below short expression of interest before Monday 17th February. Places are very limited but we would expect a maximum of 25 people to attend the visit with flights to be paid for in early March and accommodation to be paid for in May.

Please see a draft programme for the visit below.
