Developing skilful players

West Riding County FA Delivering CPD Event

Exciting event to be held at Farsley Celtic FC

West Riding County Football Association are delighted to be holding its next event to provide Continuous Personal Development (CPD) in the beautiful game.

The event, titled Exploring A Range Of Practice Designs That Develop Skilful Players, follows a similar event which was held back in September 2022.

Our CPD events are aimed at anyone at any level and skill level of football in order to enhance their development and understanding of the sport. This ranges from aspiring coaches to veteran managers of weekend league teams. These events have the primary focus of influencing coaches to get as much as they possibly can from players, which not only improves team performances but also everybody's enjoyment of playing football.

This particular event looks to answer three key questions: what is the FA's approach to developing a player's skills? What practices can a coach use to develop their skills? And what does a skilful player look like if they use the FA's four-corner model?

Other CPD events of ours on the horizon include The Match Day Experience on the same evening, Thriving On The Pitch next month, and Sensible Soccer with longtime football coach Mike Phelan this September. All of our CPD events are free of charge to attend, and coaches are welcome to participate regardless of whether or not they have qualifications.

This event will take place on Wednesday 22 February from 7pm-9.30pm at Farsley Celtic FC - The Citadel, Newlands, Farsley, Pudsey, LS28 5BE. It will be delivered by Pav Singh, and Farsley U15 will be participating. The only requirements are to bring a pen and paper for taking notes, as well as warm clothing as the event will happen on the main pitch at Farsley Celtic.
