Fantastic turnout at 2024 West Riding FA Coaches Conference
On Sunday 9 June 2024, West Riding FA welcomed 86 coaches to its 2024 Coaches Conference, with a range of coaches from different qualification levels all enjoying a day of interactive learning.
Among the 86 coaches, 8 were UEFA B qualified while there were 20 UEFA C and 58 Introduction to Coaching qualified.
In total, 74 different clubs were represented and 604 CPD hours awarded, with 91% of attendees reporting they were satisfied with the event.
Lee Ashforth, Senior Football Development Officer at West Riding FA, said: “I'm hoping that every coach was able to take something away from the event. There were fantastic networking opportunities for coaches to speak to each other and the deliverers - that's the good thing about events like these. Moving forward, we need to make sure we offer CPD opportunities for all. It's a main aim of mine to see people right across West Riding FA, covering a wide range of areas and people."
Some positive comments were provided by coaches in attendance, including the following:
“A fantastic interactive classroom-based session in the morning with theory and reflective suggestion. And lots of theory and coaching best practice sessions with some amazingly talented coaching professionals.”
“A very informative day, set up from the presentation and then on to the sessions from the coaches that kindly gave up their time to help provide some inspiration and some ideas.”
“I had high expectations for the event and it did not disappoint. Some of the presentations were thought provoking in the right way and rekindling of passions of why we volunteer. Opportunity to listen to seasoned coaches offered a wealth of knowledge to both reinforce what I already know and practice, as well as unlock limitations in my knowledge and experience. I left the event feeling enlightened and empowered.”
“Great day of learning. Vast amount of technical information to help the coaches improve the delivery of their sessions. Also an exciting day for all the volunteering kids. The smiles on all their faces was proof that they were having fun.”
Thank you to everyone who came along, and make sure you save the date for next year – Sunday 8 June 2025.
