WOMEN'S FOOTBALL in West Riding

With almost three million active female players, football is the biggest women’s team sport in England – but there is plenty of room for more people to get involved.

West Riding FA work with leagues, clubs and providers to engage female participants at every level of the game.

The number of women playing football both nationally and in West Riding is growing every year and there has never been a better time to get involved.

West riding women's beginner league

The WBL has been setup on the back of our successful ‘Mums Can Play’ provision which launched in 2018 and the demand for a league to represent the players and teams alike. The league provides a competitive opportunity for females who have little or no experience of playing football to play in an environment that is suited to their ability.

All fixtures are 9-a-side, plus an additional 11-aside cup competition, with fixtures taking place in 3 divisions across 4 venues – St Wilfrids Featherstone, West Riding County FA Woodlesford, Rossett Sports centre Harrogate and Prince Henry’s Otley on Sunday’s between 3pm and 6pm.

We are always looking for new players and new teams to join the league so if you are interested in getting involved, please complete the following expression of interest form HERE
