Rainbow Laces

Play Your Part In West Riding FA's Rainbow Laces Weekend

Rainbow laces weekend for West Riding FA takes place on the weekend 30th November and 1st December and we are looking for teams  and referees across the county to wear rainbow laces in their respective matches.

Rainbow Laces is a campaign led by Stonewall UK promoting LGBT+ equality within sports as homophobia, biphobia and transphobia remain an underlying issue.

All around the UK, people have been wearing rainbow-coloured shoelaces to show their support for LGBT+ people in sports and the 30th November and 1st December will see grassroots football in West Riding show its support on a dedicated weekend.

We have given over 800 pairs of free rainbow laces away to teams and referees in West Riding who registered their interest.

Teams and referees can now purchase their own rainbow laces to play their part in our 'Rainbow Laces Weekend' through LGBT+ charity Stonewall UK.

Purchase rainbow laces

All teams and referees who purchase/receive rainbow laces are encouraged to send photos to West Riding FA Marketing & Communications Officer Harry Jones (Harry.Jones@thefa.com) on the day of the fixture so we can share on our social media platforms. Also please tag us in your own social media posts, @westridingfa (Twitter & Facebook), @westriding_fa (Instagram).
