West Riding FA run West Yorkshire Schools Football Association Girls U12 Gala

The gala provided opportunities for year 7 girls to take part in a regional Schools FA competition.

Schools from across West Yorkshire have the opportunity to join the gala and compete to become the best team in the region.

Along with The FA, schools football & English Schools FA are having a significant push to engage more girls into football, This includes after schools clubs to inter-school competitions like the girls gala.

The focus of the gala is to show year 7 girls that there is opportunities to play competitive football but to also have fun regardless of the score line.

Over 50 girls took part in the gala from schools Co-op Academy Grange, Minsthorpe Community College, Ryburn High School and St Bede’s and St Joseph’s Catholic College, with Ryburn High School crowned winners.
