Club Affiliation 2020 21

You are invited to renew your membership with the West Riding FA from Monday 22nd June 2020

You are invited to renew your membership with the West Riding FA from Monday 22nd June 2020.

To renew your membership, you need to complete an online Affiliation Application via the Whole Game System.

 If any of your teams intend to participate in any form of football at this time, including training, the club must be affiliated and insured. The window to submit an affiliation application will remain open right up until organised football resumes and clubs can submit their affiliation application at any time through Whole Game System.

The affiliation window will operate without a defined deadline (i.e no late fees are applicable). The only deadline is that the club (and all teams) must be affiliated prior to participating in football activity (training or matches).

You will need to be mindful of any deadline dates imposed by your league and/or competition provider with respect to when they need you to register and be affiliated by.

All ACTIVE teams must be insured for Public Liability. This means that the Club must purchase Public Liability Insurance at £17 per club. This is available to purchase as part of your affiliation application. Your application will not be approved until you have purchased this product.

All ACTIVE teams must be inured for Personal Accident. The West Riding FA have achieved discounts on all PA insurance products for the 2020-21 season;

Youth PA Insurance per team: £15.50 (Discount of £2.50) – This meets FA minimum requirements

Adult PA Insurance – Basic - £56.50 (Discount of £12.50) – This meets FA minimum requirements

Adult PA Insurance – Bronze - £102.50 (Discount of £14.50)

Adult PA Insurance – Silver- £143.50 (Discount of £67.50)

Club Affiliation - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Public Liability (PL)– No. Clubs can purchase PL insurance via the Whole Game System when they affiliate.

Please note - All clubs who affiliated in the 2019-20 season and purchased PL insurance via Sportsguard will benefit from continued cover under the same policy until such time as organised football starts.

Personal Accident Insurance (PA) – Yes. PA insurance is not available to purchase via the Whole Game System. PA insurance can be purchased via the West Riding FA Online Shop operated via the West Riding FA website. Clubs can purchase PA insurance at any time and can ‘top up’ their insurances as and when they need to (i.e as and when more teams start participating).

If the insurance provider can offer pro-rata discounts on PA insurance products, the ‘online shop’ will be updated and the real time price applicable at the time of purchase will be shown.

Given the uncertainty surrounding when football may return, and the desire to support Leagues to operate as effectively as possible, the West Riding FA will only run County Cup Competitions in season 2020-21, provided the following condition is met;

Notification is received from the government/FA by 01/08/2020 that football can resume by 05/09/2020.

Notification must be received by 1st August 2020 AND that notification must confirm that organised football can resume from 5th September 2020.

The cup competitions shall NOT run if,

  1. Notification is received after 01/08/2020
  2. Football is not permitted to resume until after the 5th September 2020

If notification is received by 1st August 2020, and the competitions will run, all clubs will receive an email invitation to enter on August 2nd 2020.

Clubs are advised the West Riding FA will cease to accept cash or cheque payments from 1st January 2021. The decision has been taken to ensure speed of service and to protect our staff from any unnecessary risk associated with processing physical forms of payments.

All clubs who affiliated in the 2019-20 season and purchased Public Liability (PL) insurance via Sportsguard will benefit from continued cover under the same policy until such time as organised football starts and the 2020-21 product is available to purchase.

Personal Accident (PA) Insurance is required to support any participant who is physically engaged in football activity. All clubs who affiliated in 2019-20 and who purchased PA insurance for their teams via Sportsguard will benefit from continued PA cover under the same policy until 30/06/2020

Prior to the government’s announcement on 28/05/20 no football was permitted to take place and as such, there was no requirement for clubs to be affiliated. However, we appreciate that some clubs have declared that they can safely operate non-contact training sessions of no more than 6 participants (including the coach) whilst maintaining social distancing of 2 metres.

Affiliation + purchased PL Insurance (for the club) + purchased PA insurance (for all participating teams) = PLAYERS ARE INSURED

An affiliation application can only be approved when the club can evidence that they have purchased the appropriate level of Public Liability (PL) for the club and Personal Accident (PA) Insurance for each of their teams.

If the season start date extends beyond December 2020, it is likely that pro-rata discounts will be applied to the PA premiums for adult and youth. However, if the season starts prior to December 2020, and leagues and competitions can operate a full season between the start date and 31st May 2021, the full premium value will apply. Clearly these discounts will only be applicable to those teams who have engaged in no football activity between 1st July and the season start date.
