Masters Football League Launches In Elland

Masters Football League Launches In Elland

Tuesday evening saw the launch of our new Masters Football League at Brooksbank School in Elland, a new home for masters of the game.

5 teams have so far entered the league and fixtures will take place at Brooksbank’s 3G pitch on Tuesday evenings.

The format of the league is as follows:

  • 45+
  • 9V9
  • 50 min matches
  • £40 per team per fixture

This comes off the back off of our successful Veterans Football offer for those aged 35+ and after receiving a large number of requests to run a smaller sided format for those aged 45+.

West Riding FA Football Services Officer Reece Sockett who has setup the league, said “Masters Football was created to help bridge the gap for some of the slightly older individuals within Veterans Football who still have a passion to play football, but within a better suited environment.

We believe Masters Football will prolong the enjoyable experience West Riding FA create for all of our players.”

Lee Maran, Senior Football Development Officer at West Riding FA, added “The Masters League gives each player the extra years to continue playing the game they love in an environment best suited to them.

West Riding FA’s aim is to provide football for all and the inclusion of the Masters League into our community leagues supports just that.”
