Matt Hughes joins the football development team as our new football projects administrator

Matt will work closely with the Football Development Team who are responsible for planning, developing, and delivering bespoke projects and programmes to encourage more players, coaches, referees, and volunteers to participate more often.

The focus for Matt will be on County Cup Competitions, the Referee Mentor Programme and our Community Leagues (Flexi, Veterans, U23 and Women’s Beginner League).

On joining West Riding FA, Matt said "I’m very excited to be joining West Riding FA as the new Football Projects Administrator.

I’m looking forward to working with so many different clubs, leagues, and cup committees in West Riding to improve the standard and provision available."

Senior Football Development Officer, Lee Ashforth, added "It is fantastic to have Matthew joining our team, we are excited about this new position and the implementation of the role.

Matt will really help our delivery of the cups and competitions we run as well as supporting the Referee Mentor Programme which continues to grow from strength to strength."
