Read the story how a club have managed to bring their pitch back to life thanks to Football Foundation funding.

Ripponden Wood Playing Field has been renovated to ensure it can be used for the 2023/24 season after fantastic work by the ground staff and funding from the Football Foundation's Grass Pitch Maintenance Fund.

This is an excerpt of a story posted within the West Riding FA Groundskeeping Community.

"Over the summer, the club have put their grant funding to good use by working with local contractor Steven Fletcher from Pitch Perfect (Yorkshire). The summer renovation work included extensive verti-draining and scarification, rerouting of drainage and the substantial (disc and dimple) seeding, 40 tonne of top-dressing, feeding and lots of watering.

"Demand on the Ripponden Wood pitches is huge with sixteen 11v11 teams at Ryburn United requiring pitch allocation. Over £15k of new investment has been made over the past 12 months, this is due to the support received from the FA and the Football Foundation."
