West Riding FA Tackles Digital Inclusivity with Recite Me Assistive Tools

We are thrilled to see that over the last 9 months, 800 users have used the Recite Me toolbar to read over 3,500 pages on our website.

Recite Me assistive technology is available on the West Riding website, to help break down digital barriers for those with additional needs online.

With over 1.3 billion people worldwide with some form of disability, we wanted to ensure that everyone could access our digital platform in a way that works best for them.

The assistive toolbar first became available on our website back in August 2023, and ever since we have been providing sports fans with full control over the customisation of our website.

This includes a screen reader, multiple reading aids, styling and customisation tools and an online translation feature that can read up to 100 languages, 65 of which are text-to-speech.

You can try out these tools, by clicking the Accessibility icon in the bottom left of the West Riding FA website.

We are thrilled to see that over the last 9 months, 800 users have used the Recite Me toolbar to read over 3,500 pages on our website.

The screen reader feature alone has been clicked over 1,900 times to read content aloud.

Ashraf Wallace, EDI Lead at West Riding FA, said: “We are thrilled to see the Recite Me toolbar being utilised by our website visitors. Whether it is finding out more about our upcoming events or engaging with other fans, it is fantastic to give our website visitors full control of their digital experience, regardless of disabilities.”
