West Riding FA Launches Community Ambassadors Programme for New Football Calendar Year

The programme officially kicks off in July and runs through to June of the following year

As the new football calendar year approaches, the West Riding Football Association is gearing up with the introduction of community ambassadors across various regions.

The programme, which officially kicks off in July and runs through to June of the following year, aims to foster greater community engagement and support for football initiatives throughout Bradford, Leeds, Wakefield, Kirklees, and Calderdale.

The introduction of community ambassadors represents a proactive step by the West Riding FA to strengthen ties with local communities and promote the development of football at all levels. These ambassadors will act as liaisons between the association and their respective regions, facilitating communication, promoting grassroots programmes, and encouraging participation in football activities.

"We are thrilled to announce the appointment of our community ambassadors ahead of the new football calendar year," said Ashraf Wallace, ED&I Lead of West Riding FA.

"Their role is pivotal in spreading the love for the beautiful game across our diverse communities."

The ambassadors, each representing a distinct area within West Riding, will be instrumental in driving local football initiatives forward.

The West Riding FA remains committed to expanding its network of ambassadors and is actively seeking individuals from specific areas to join the initiative. If you reside in one of the designated regions and share a passion for football and community engagement, this could be an exciting opportunity to make a difference.

"If you're interested in becoming a community ambassador and contributing to the growth of football in your area, we encourage you to express your interest by filling out the expression of interest form," urged Ashraf. "Together, we can create lasting positive impacts on our local football communities."

The introduction of community ambassadors underscores the West Riding FA's dedication to empowering local communities through the power of football. By fostering collaboration and enthusiasm, the association aims to build a stronger and more inclusive football landscape across West Riding.

3. Commitment to Community: Our Ambassadors are committed to making a positive impact in their local communities.

4. Diversity and Inclusivity: We believe that football is for everyone, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, or ability. We welcome applicants who share our commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity within the footballing community.

5. Leadership Skills: While previous leadership experience is not required, we are looking for individuals who demonstrate strong communication skills, teamwork, and a willingness to take initiative.

6. Creativity and Innovation: We encourage Ambassadors to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to challenges facing our footballing community.

Fair Representation Across the Community Ambassadors:

To ensure fair and proportionate representation and diversity within the Community Ambassador Programme, we cap representation to one individual per club, league, or organisation.
